Our Multicolor Labels are two-color or multicolor labels with images that are visible to the unaided eye. They provide three levels of optical security:
OVD effect (optically variable device). Varying the angle at which the label is viewed, causes a noticeable color shift (color-travel) like red-to-green or green-to-blue.
A unique image extinction effect (due to polarized reflection) is seen when the label is viewed through an inexpensive validator (a circular polarizer)
A forensic level of distinct tunable spectroscopic features that are detectable with laboratory instrumentation.
A unique patented feature of our technology is that all colors and patterns are developed in a single CLC polymerlayer in one processing step.
Top labels - two-color images as seen (unaided) from above the labels.
Bottom - OVD effect. All top colors shifted towards the blue end of
the spectrum when the labels were viewed at large angles away from the normal.
Multicolor
Label - All visible colors are seen in a single CLC
polymer layer.
Multicolor Label - All visible colors are seen in a single CLC layer.
Bottom - reflected image as seen by an unaided eye. Top right - reflection is blocked by a
left-handed circular polarizer. Top left - image as seen through a right-handed
polarizer.
A simple validator composed of inexpensive right & left handed sheet
polarizers can authenticate this unique polarized reflection feature.
